Synopsis
A delightful comedy about Theda Blau, a zany, eccentric, failed actress, health food nut, and wannabe playwright in search of love and success in New York. She meets Vito Pignoli, a hugely successful TV commercial producer. By holding him hostage in her apartment one snowy evening, she somehow manages to convince him to be her partner both on the page and off.
It Could Be You!
We’re casting for the male lead for It Had to Be You, a quirky two-hander set for two runs, 5 performances just before Christmas at the Almonte Town Hall and two weeks at Valentine’s Day at the Gladstone.*
Characters - The age of the character is flexible, and casting will be based on the chemistry between the characters.
VITO PIGNOLI 45 - 55 yrs The male is a strong New York character with Italian heritage who has a soft spot that he hides very well. Stage age about 45-55.

The Third Life of Eddie Mann

Eddie Mann’s first life was a teacher, which he loved. He retired after 31 years and decide to become a financial adviser, which he hated. that was his second life. We come across Eddie standing on the ledge of the sixth floor of St. Vincent Hospital, freshly fired by his only client and entertaining the notion of making a very quick trip to the parking lot. along comes a quirky passerby who calls himself Angel. After an even quirkier conversation, Eddie makes a decision.

SPECIAL NOTE: ***pending rights acquisition - this play will be entered into the Eastern Ontario Drama League (EODL) One Act Play Festival in the fall. This means the actors will perform both in the October production and bring it back to the stage for the festival competition in November 2024 in Perth, where the EODL festival is being hosted.

David is divorced, middle-aged, and in danger of becoming a reclusive alcoholic. In a desperate act of self-preservation, his psyche summons back his childhood imaginary friend, Michael. Michael has taken a different path to maturity, and has an agenda of his own.

Michael aged 44, David’s imaginary friend, living the good bachelor life
